Title
Elements of the crop structure and seed productivity of oilseed flax of the Ural variety in the conditions of the Leningrad region
Summary
In 2020 and 2021, studies on the influence of seeding rates (2, 4, 6 and 8 million units/ha) on the growth, development and productivity of oilseed flax (Linum usitatissimum L.) of the Ural variety were carried out at the small experimental field of the I.A. Stebut Department of Plant Growing at SPbGAU. The research results have shown that an increase in the seeding rate of oilseed flax of the Ural variety in the conditions of the Leningrad region leads to a decrease in the quantitative indicators of the elements of the crop structure. The number of productive stems is reduced by 43%, the number of pods on the plant by 68%, and the weight of seeds from the plant by 66%. The mass of 1000 seeds was the largest (9.1 g) in the variant with a seeding rate of 8 million units/ha and depended on the formation and location of the pods on the mother plant. On average, over the years of the experiment, there was a significant increase in yield with an increase in the seeding rate by 0.2-0.5 t/ha with an LSD05 – 0.2 t/ha and was from 1.3 (in the control) to 1.5-1.8 t/ha according to the experimental variants. On average, over 2 years, the oil content of Uralsky seeds varied in a narrow range according to the experimental variants from 31 to 33%. The oil content of the variety was more dependent on weather conditions during the seed ripening period and to a lesser extent on the studied seeding rates. The highest oil yield was observed at the maximum seeding rate and amounted to 0.6 t/ha, which is 29% higher compared to the control and 19-22% compared to variants 4 and 6 million pcs/ha. In the conditions of the Leningrad region, on sod-carbonate soil and with natural moisture, in order to obtain a stable seed yield at the level of 1.8 t/ha and 0.6 t/ha of oil, it is recommended to sow oilseed flax of the Ural variety with a seeding rate of 8 million units/ha.
